To execute our growth strategy, we are now looking for a:

Head of R&D and Offering

In this key role, you will be responsible for the entire product development and product offering lifecycle—from ideation and concept development to market launch and lifecycle management.

You will ensure that R&D strongly supports business strategy, customer needs, and long-term competitiveness. A core objective is to grow and develop a product offering that enables rapid growth and scalability. Experience in creating and managing platform-based, modular, and standardized product architectures is a strong advantage.

You will lead the R&D function holistically, ensuring products are developed with high quality, cost efficiency, and on schedule.

Your Role

As Head of R&D and Offering, you will be accountable for the performance, development, and results of the entire R&D organization, as well as for maintaining a competitive and future-proof product portfolio.

You will lead a multidisciplinary organization covering:

• Product management
• Product and engineering design
• Prototyping and testing
• Item-level master data
• Product lifecycle management

You will work in close collaboration with business management, sales, marketing, manufacturing, and sourcing to ensure R&D delivers tangible value to customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic and operational leadership of product development
• Defining product roadmaps and development priorities together with the business
• Overall ownership of product portfolio and product management
• Developing R&D processes, operating models, and tools
• Leading product design as part of R&D (mechanical, structural, industrial design, automation, and systems engineering)
• Steering innovation, concepts, and new product development
• End-to-end ownership of prototyping, validation, and testing
• Ensuring manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency of products
• Product lifecycle management (including aftermarket master data, change management, obsolescence, and continuous improvement)
• Resource planning, budgeting, and R&D performance management
• Leading, developing, and scaling the R&D organization and competencies
• Collaboration with key stakeholders (manufacturing, sourcing, sales, customers, partners)

What We Expect From You

• Relevant academic degree
• Strong experience in leading product development as a holistic function
• Experience in product management and product portfolio leadership
• Solid understanding of product design and technical implementation
• Background in manufacturing industry and production environments
• Practical experience in collaborating with in-house production and subcontractors
• Financial acumen (budgeting, cost structures, profitability)
• Continuous improvement mindset and the ability to automate and enhance product processes using modern tools, including AI
